 Do you have a rabies clinic?

Emerson sponsors an annual rabies clinic which is held in the fall at the DPW garage.  The date and time will be announced.  If you miss the Emerson Rabies Clinic, you can go to Washington Township.

 How do I apply for a civil union license?

In order to apply for a Civil Union License, the partners must have a witness 18 years of age or older.  The partners must have a government issued identification like a Driver’s License.  If the partners do not have a Driver’s License they can present passports with a copy of a bank statement/utility bill with their current address listed.   There is a minimum of a seventy-two (72) hour waiting period between the time of application and the issuance of the license.  Once issued, the license is valid for thirty (30) days.  The license fee is $28.  One or both partners must be a resident of Emerson.  If the partners are out of state residents, they should apply in the municipality where the ceremony will take place.  Please call to set up an appointment.   For a link to the forms required please go to:  www.nwbrhc.org

 What do I need to obtain a certified copy of a vital statistics record?

The individual should contact the municipality where the event took place.  The individual will complete an application for a certified copy of record and show a valid form of identification, such as a driver's license or passport and utility bill/bank statement.  The fee is $25.00 (each additional copy is $2.00 if ordered at the same time).  For a link to the forms required please go to:  www.nwbrhc.org

 

 Who is eligible for the Flu Program?

The borough provides an annual influenza program at the Senior Center in the fall for residents.  Senior citizens must bring their Medicare cards – we do not accept Medicare Advantage Plans (HMO/PPO etc).  All residents are welcome – the charge for a flu shot for those not on Medicare is $25 and $35 for a High Dose Vaccination.

 Why can I not renew my dog license if my rabies certificate has not expired yet?

The State of New Jersey requires that in order for a license to be issued, the owner must provide proof that a licensed veterinarian has vaccinated the dog against rabies.   A copy of a valid Rabies Vaccination must accompany this application. The rabies vaccination is not valid if the expiration date expires prior to November 1 of the current year.
