Board of Health

The Emerson Board of Health was established when the Borough of Emerson was incorporated as a municipality in 1903. The autonomous Board, which can legislate local health ordinances, is composed of five members who are Borough residents. The Board meets monthly and at its January meeting, elects a slate of officers. Board Members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council, usually for a three-year term.
