The Borough of Emerson is seeking a P/T Recreation Coordinator.  Multi-tasking, effective communication skills and computer proficiency are a must. Under the supervision of the Borough Administrator, responsibilities include development, implementation, and/or promotion of activities and community events including coordinating the Summer Kickoff, and other Borough sponsored events as well as being the main point of contact between the Recreation Commission, each individual sports board and residents. Must be able to attend two evening meetings per month, draft and prepare agendas and meeting materials with Presiding Officer to distribute to members and keep detailed meeting minutes; update Borough social media with recreational information and events. Responsible for certifying coaches, ensuring background checks, safety courses and other training requirements are fulfilled. Manage and process vendor contracts and files for Recreation events. Coordination with Summer Camp Director and summer camp registration. Responsibilities also include supporting other administrative and municipal communication functions as needed including booking fields, overseeing sports registration.

Salary DOQ, 15-20 hours (flexible) per week. The Borough of Emerson is looking for two (2) enthusiastic individuals who are seeking an internship opportunity to learn the inner workings of local government operations. The successful candidate can gain valuable experience through administrative work in the Clerk’s Office, Finance Office, Board of Health Office, Building Department, DPW, and/or Police Department as well assisting with special events and coordinating programs. With a flexible schedule and a friendly work environment, the Borough of Emerson is a great place to intern!

The Emerson Department of Public Works is accepting applications for the position of TEMPORARY SUMMER HELP. Hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday to Friday (start date TBD). Applicant must be able to perform park maintenance, mowing, lawn care, painting, and heavy lifting. $12 per hour.
